We first met Gaz when we were having problems with our cockerpoo Sammy over aggression whilst grooming and taking objects off him which he had stolen. After a few sessions Gaz gave us the confidence to be the pack leader and be more confident when dealing with Sammy. We then took Sammy to the weekly training sessions to help with his socialisation and general training. He loves these sessions and as soon as he realises where we are going barks with excitement. They are informal and are great for all dogs. Earlier this year we also took on one of Gaz’s puppies. Luna a German Shepherd cross. We took her on at 12 weeks and she is the most loving calm puppy i have ever had. Luna now joins Sammy at the weekly training sessions and loves them as much as Sammy. We are all learning so much from these sessions and would highly recommend Gaz. We both now have the confidence to deal with Sammy and its lovely to see how he has developed with the introduction of Luna. I would highly recommend Gaz to help out with any issues your dog might have and to socialise your dog more.
In the past, in the UK, I’ve taken lessons in competitive obedience and here in France in “dressage” but Gaz’s less formal training style is more effective and suits all breeds and types of dogs – particularly good for “rescue” dogs whose past is uncertain. Mine are currently toy Spaniels and a sighthound, breeds with extremely different characters and they have both benefitted from what we have learnt at training sessions.
Thank you for taking such good care of Belle while we were away. She really had a good time with you guys and enjoyed spending time with the rest of the pack.
Dog training is the act of teaching a dog particular skills or behaviours. Dog training includes teaching a dog to react to particular commands and cues as well as to act independently by deliberately changing their natural behaviour.
Dogs have been trained to perform a large number of practical functions including search and rescue, herding livestock, guarding, explosive or drug detection, disability assistance, dogs have also been trained to perform recreational functions, including companionship, shooting assistance.
Dog training usually involves the basic obedience training to establish control over the animal and can then progress to more advanced specialist training. Basic obedience training includes teaching a dog:
Recall training – teaching the dog to come on command
Sitting training – teaching the dog to sit on command
Walking or heeling training – teaching the dog to walk on or off lead with the handler
Staying training – teaching the dog not to stray on command
Sociability training – teaching the dog not to be aggressive to humans, other dogs or other animals.
Below are the prices for all of our training and boarding packages. As you can see there are a few different options and you may need assistance when you are booking for the first time. Please Contact Gareth if you need some more information before booking a class or boarding for your dog.
Please note that we do not provide food for dogs that board with us, so please bring some with you when you come to bring your dog. It is also recommended to bring your dog’s passport or other papers in case there is an emergency.
